Storyline Young and Innocent
Deceived by the scruffy ginger counselor who’s the only boy near her emotional age at Emily Dickinson Writing Camp, Marion ditches lunch duty and jumps the next bus out of town. Alone and friendless, she holes up in a nowhere motel, ignoring the nagging calls from her sister and indulging in utter anonymity. There Marion meets Norman, and each is haunted by the feeling that they’ve met the other before. Like a garage band covering a string quartet, freshman director Jesse Robinson rebuilds Psycho from a looser, warmer material. Young and Innocent throws a haze across Hitchcock’s spartan menace, replacing autumnal chill with summer swelter, and adult frailty with the languageless longings of adolescence.Movie details

"Young and Innocent" is one of the best of Alfred Hitchcock's pre-Hollywood movies. It contains all of the features that characterized the finest of his British movies, and is (as many others have commented) a film often undeservedly overlooked amongst Hitchcock's large collection of classics.

Not a bad movie. Just kind of weird, and it doesn't really go anywhere. It's like another "take" on Norman Bates, but if you've seen the Bates Motel series, his personality was explored 1000% more. It seems to be a teen-aged rom-com remake of the original Psycho but without the tension or violence.

Equal to Man Who Knew Too Much, 39 Steps, Lady Vanishes, minus the dark undercurrent of political intrigue, Young And Innocent is more a pleasurable chase through the English countryside, a love story, a light thriller, a comedy, more Capra-esque than Fritz Lang.
Young and Innocent. I have seen almost all of Hitchcock's films but this one I had missed. I thoroughly enjoyed the suspense, the "cat and mouse chase" and the variety of scenes that led to the climactic ending at the dance.
